Dr. Kevin Wang Delivered a Speech at 2025 Compliance Conference

On November 19, 2025, European Union Chamber of Commerce (Hereafter referred to as European Chamber) Compliance Conference 2025: NAVIGATE REGULATORY COMPLEXITIES, FORTIFY BUSINESS RESILIENCE organized by the European Chamber was held successfully. The conference covered several topics on cross-border data transfers ("CBDT"), trade secret protection, and compliance issues for companies operating across multiple jurisdictions, which were identified through a recent survey on the foremost challenges faced by European Chamber members.

Dr. Kevin Wang from Global Law Office delivered a keynote speech on "CBDT under the Era of AI". Starting with a brief introduction of the China regulatory framework of CBDT, Dr. Wang discussed the actual pain-points that MNCs experience within their large organizations and outside regulatory environments. Key matters on building internal compliance eco-systems and navigating the complex country-level and provincial regulatory enforcement processes were highlighted. Dr. Wang applied scenario analysis approach to presenting different CBDT cases and the relevant legal perspectives from personal information protection, critical/important data, content security, export control, AI regulation and IP protection for five AI usages in marketing, client service, and factory management for general purposes across industries, as well as AI applications in product design in medical device and autonomous vehicle sectors. Key risks and solutions, especially the compliance controls, contractual terms and dispute resolutions were suggested. Dr. Wang's presentation received a lot of positive feedbacks from the event guests and MNC members.

 

Over 50 executives, heads of legal & compliance departments, compliance officers and experts from leading multinational companies, law firms, academia and civil society attended this event.
