Leon Li is a partner based in GLO Chengdu office. He specializes in cross-border M&A, general corporate, international trade, PE and capital markets.

 

With over a decade of practice in top international law firms, Leon Li has become a seasoned corporate attorney in advising both Chinese and international clients in their cross-border M&A, financing and international trade transactions.  Also, on the strength of his experience serving as the China legal head of Hyster-Yale and senior legal counsel in GE Healthcare China, Leon Li has also acquired extensive experience in advising multinational companies in various legal and compliance issues arising in their day-to-day domestic and international business operations.

 

Below are some representative matters advised by Leon Li:

  • Advised a Beijing-based SOE in its proposed acquisition of a Chapter 11 helicopter manufacturer, Hawker Beechcraft.
  • Advised a central-owned SOE in several outbound acquisition transactions, including an acquisition of 50% shareholdings in a private Canadian mining company, a going-private acquisition of a listed Canadian gold mining company and an acquisition of all equity interests in a private gold mining company in Kyrgyzstan.
  • Advised a Beijing-based SOE in a proposed going-private co-acquisition of a NASDAQ listed semiconductor company by means of complex deal structures.
  • Advised a Tianjin-based private company in its acquisition of certain assets located in Zambia.
  • Advised Thyssen-Krupp in its investment/acquisition and operation in several automotive projects in China.
  • Advised DT Capital in its investment in Taotao search Series B investment.
  • Advised New Journey Hospital Group Ltd. in its sale of a majority stake in a private hospital to a hospital management fund.
