Jack Zhanke Li is a widely recognized IP litigator and co-chairs the IP practice of Global Law Office. With an educational background of both engineering and law, Jack specializes in IP litigation, including technology-related IP disputes (such as patents, trade secrets, and software) and non-technology-related IP disputes (such as trademarks, unfair competition, and IP contracts).

His clients include leading domestic and multinational companies in industries such as high-end manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, internet, and software. Many of the cases he has handled have been recognized as Top 10 IP Cases or landmark cases by the Supreme People's Court (SPC) and various high courts.

Jack specializes in major, complex IP litigations and has represented clients in several high-stakes infringement disputes. He is adept at employing comprehensive legal strategies, including successfully securing pre-trial evidence preservation in multiple cases. In a series of patent infringement actions against a client, he resolved over a dozen cross-litigations within a relatively short period through well-planned countermeasures. In another major trade secret dispute between two companies amid their respective listing processes, through a combination of litigation and negotiation, he helped the parties reach a comprehensive settlement prior to first-instance judgment, securing not only a substantial settlement sum but also ownership of the relevant product pipeline for the client. He has also repeatedly turned the tide at the appellate stage when first-instance rulings were unfavorable. For example, in a trademark infringement and unfair competition case, despite an adverse first-instance outcome, he obtained a preliminary injunction for the client at the appellate stage and ultimately prevailed. In another trademark infringement case, he persuaded the appellate court to overturn the first-instance judgment and secure a well-known trademark recognition for the client. In a trade secret infringement case where the first-instance ruling found no infringement, he successfully convinced the Supreme People's Court to issue a mediation award favorable to the client, which included compensation.

Jack also has rich experience in non-contentious IP matters, including strategic planning and management of corporate intellectual property, special IP services in the process of IPO, IP due diligence, FTO and infringement analysis, and IP licensing and transaction matters.

Prior to joining Global Law Office in 2016, Jack worked with other top-tier PRC firms for years. Jack started his IP practice at an MNC where he worked as an IP Counsel focusing on IP licensing matters.
