Guosheng Xu is a trusted partner to lawyers, compliance officers and business executives. He is qualified in both the UK and Singapore Bar and has over 25 years of experience working both in-house and as an external counsel. He advises clients on cybersecurity, data and privacy law and compliance matters, including compliance program assessments, data processing contracts, and data incident management, cross border data transfers as well as internet and business licensing. He is also experienced in anti-corruption and fraud compliance. He has advised and continues to support many multinational companies such as Xiaomi, Autohome, Schneider, Nike, Volvo on data protection and regulatory matters in China and overseas. He has recently been selected by Bytedance to consult in the area of data compliance. His in-house experience allows him to help clients assess risks in a meaningful way and craft practical solutions which can be quickly and easily implemented.
Guosheng Xu, has over 15 years of in-house legal, corporate and compliance experience having served as the Compliance Director for Asia Pacific and the China General Counsel at Diebold Inc. as well as the Compliance Director AP for Nokia Siemen’s Greater China networks business.
At Diebold, Guosheng Xu was responsible for managing the corporate governance and compliance programs of all Diebold entities in over 12 countries in Asia as well as promoting compliance adoption among all distributors and vendors in the region.
His experience includes dealing with compliance monitors under deferred prosecution agreements, and the successful resolution of investigations by regulators in China, India and Indonesia, setting up and serving on compliance committees for US and European listed companies.
Guosheng Xu is also an accomplished commercial of counsel having negotiated many telecom network deals in Asia.
By working closely with clients and understanding their business plans and challenges, Guosheng Xu has helped many clients with their compliance strategies as well as advising on the effective roll out of compliance initiatives and programs.
