Owen Cox is a Senior Counsel of Global Law Office in Shanghai. He is an Australian-qualified lawyer with full-time China legal experience that extends back to 2001.
Owen assists a broad range of multinational corporations in China, with a focus on foreign investors structuring, setting up and operating in China. He works on greenfield establishments, and acquisitions and divestments of companies and assets, across a range of sectors, including manufacturing, distribution, agriculture, automotive and services. He actively assists clients with the protection of trade secrets, including with conducting internal investigations for employee misconduct. In addition, Owen advises on a broad range of other matters, covering trade, competition law, labour law issues, IP licensing and enforcement, and distribution arrangements.
Owen has also advised in construction matters, and assisted with the resolution of construction disputes, including under FIDIC contracts and legal representation in Dispute Adjudication Board proceedings.
Before joining Global Law Office, Owen worked with leading UK-based international law firms in Shanghai
