Roy Zhu concentrates in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other complex cross-border corporate/commercial transactions for multinational corporations, private equity funds and Chinese enterprises. He also focuses his practice on global corporate reorganizations, assisting multinational clients prepare for future strategic transactions and in their post-acquisition integrations from a Chinese law perspective.
Roy has led transactions in a wide range of sectors, including automotive, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and scientific instruments, chemicals, food and beverage, semiconductor equipment, telecommunications, consumer products, hotel and hospitality, and real estate. By leveraging his solid corporate/commercial transaction experiences, Roy also counsels non-Chinese clients in complex shareholder disputes, contractual disputes, and lease disputes in China. In 2018, Roy was designated by Shanghai Bureau of Justice as an expert on cross-border legal practice.
Roy is admitted to practice in the People’s Republic of China and the State of New York.
Roy Zhu joined Global Law Office in 2021. Before joining Global Law Office, Roy worked at MWE China Law Offices (strategic alliance with McDermott Will & Emery LLP) and Zhong Lun Law Firm in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, and foreign direct investment.
