Vanessa Dai is specialized in criminal litigation, compliance & risk control, dispute resolution, and dispute resolution to the cases involving both criminal and commercial issues. She has helped many companies establish and improve compliance programs, conduct anti-bribery, anti-fraud, third-party management internal investigations, as well as proper cooperation and response to the investigations by the police, the AMR, the tax bureau, etc. She has assessed all-round legal and compliance risks on companies and officers and given useful advice. She has also represented many clients to report wrongdoings to the police for criminal charges. Her clients include Fortune Global 500 companies, famous central SOEs, and local and foreign public companies.

 

Vanessa Dai has rich experience and in-depth studies in criminal counselling and defense of white-collar offenses, such as insider trading, market manipulation, misrepresentation in the field of finance and securities, as well as fraud and money laundering. Her articles in these areas have been published in several authoritative journals. She has been invited to provide compliance trainings to companies and officers.

 

Vanessa Dai has defended many criminal cases with significant influence. For example, the 3rd criminal case of fraudulent issuance of private equity bonds in China, the 2nd criminal case of illegal disclosure of critical information in Shanghai, several criminal cases of public companies’ stock market manipulation, several criminal cases of famous platform’s fraudulent fund-raising, a public company’s officer divulging inside information, a public company’s issuance of false invoices, a public company’s smuggling ordinary goods. She has received clients’ high praises for her professional and in-depth insights as well as diligent and meticulous attitudes. 

Work Experience

Vanessa Dai joined Global Law Office as a partner in 2022. Prior to Global, she practiced criminal defense and counselling as well as compliance & regulatory at King & Wood Mallesons, Zhong Lun Law Firm and Wintell & Co.

 

Before entering the practice of law, Vanessa Dai was a prosecutor at a people's procuratorate in Shanghai.
