Our Beijing-based partner Mr. Chengwei (Alex) LIU has been selected from nearly 200 candidates across China as one of China’s Top 15 Rising Lawyers by Asian Legal Business (ALB) in 2014. The aim of this ranking is to showcase 15 ambitious, up-and-coming young lawyers in all of China with the potential of becoming future stars in the legal market.

Mr. LIU focuses on mergers and acquisitions (including takeover and restructuring of listed companies, cross-border M&A, acquisition of state-owned enterprises), capital markets (including onshore and offshore IPOs, public transfer on NEEQ, debts financing), venture capital and private equity investments, corporate and investment (including FDI and overseas investment), M&A transaction tax, and antitrust and competition law. Mr. LIU has in-depth knowledge and understanding about legal matters concerning the takeover and restructuring of listed companies, and specialises in designing innovative, but viable deal structures for transactions.  Mr. LIU has advised clients involved in high-profile takeover or restructuring transactions, some of which have been set as the first cases/projects in China. Mr. LIU also advises governmental agencies like the Ministry of Commerce, the CSRC, etc. on their legislations and has nurtured close relationships with such authorities.
 

Mr. Liu has worked with Global law office for nearly ten years since graduating from the Law School of Renmin University (Top 3 Law School in China) with an LL.M.
