Betty is a Senior Consultant based in GLO Shanghai Office. Her practice focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. Betty is admitted as a solicitor in the Hong Kong SAR and England and Wales, and has passed the PRC Bar Exam. Her working languages include Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese, English, and French. Prior to joining GLO, Betty was a Partner at two major international law firms. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hong Kong, an M.Phil. in Linguistics degree from the University of Cambridge, and obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London.
A seasoned practitioner with an international outlook, Betty has over 15 years of experience in advising multinational corporations on their investments in China. She has advised extensively on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, China inbound and outbound investments, the formation and operation of Chinese-foreign joint ventures, as well as general corporate and regulatory matters in China. Her clients include multinational corporations across a wide spectrum of industries, including manufacturing, chemicals, life sciences, energy, ship building, aerospace, hospitality, financial services, consumer products, and retail.
Betty’s work has been widely recognized by clients and industry media. She was recognized as a Highly Regarded Lawyer/Leading Lawyer for seven consecutive years by IFLR1000 (2013-2019) and was highly ranked as Leading Lawyer in Corporate/M&A by Chambers Asia-Pacific (2015-2017).
